Wicker Shopping Trolley

Surely all of the people in my miniature world love to shop as much as I do  :) Therefore I'm brushing up on my wicker weaving skills by creating a shopping trolley/cart. I'm using the directions from Jane Harrop's book, Thirties and Forties Miniatures in 1:12 Scale. I hope to post the results in a few days.

  1. WOW! I made one of those baskets using wire and linen DMC thread. It wasn't easy! You have done a GREAT job! I can't imagine getting that stuff into the shape I wanted it to be.

  2. I'm impressed so far! There are two things I'm afraid to touch, flower making kits and wicker - looking forward to seeing it finished :)

  3. Norma, my fear is anything to do with polymer clay. I purchased Angie Scarr's book and tried the easiest thing: a loaf of bread. My bread ended up looking like a big albino beetle. I threw it out in disgust. I refuse to touch the stuff again.

  5. I just bought a book on making wicker furniture in 1:12th scale and am itching to try it but, alas, my Dremel needed to drill holes in the wooden bases is hiding somewhere and though I am finally making headway in cleaning out my basement work area, it is hiding so well, I cannot find it anywhere. Hope you'll share the specific how to's!

  6. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I'm also afraid of polymer - maybe there's some kind of 'therapy' group we should join ;)

  7. Coucou Carol,

You are really gifted!! I always fear of threads and you do make it perfectly.

I just slip out the new house and jump to my husband’s office for Internet.
    Have a nice weekend! :)
