I just received these pics today and couldn't wait to share the progress of the Tuscan Farmhouse. There is still some painting and a bit of work left to do yet, but it is taking shape.
I am still undecided about what to do with the little room off the side. Shall it be a storage area? laundry? tool shed? breakfast nook? room for the wine press? Perhaps some of my knowledgable readers can tell me if a wine press would be located in a house or in a separate building?

The house is fantastic, love the way how they made the roof.I saw the wine press always on the courtyard, but I'm not an Italian countryman ! But I think,if you have the house at home your ideas will explore to arrange everything:-)!It's such a great house,so there's no limit where your imagination can take you!Jeannette
ReplyDeleteAmazingly beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely! No idea about the little room, though. Maybe you could put a goat in there just being handled by the milkmaid ? No, I don't think that's fitting ... lol.
ReplyDeleteOh Carol! It is looking so good! I want to move in that house too bad I won't fit. ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh! What a Beautiful house! The details are amazing and so realistic! I can't wait to see what you do with it!
ReplyDeleteWow! It's so beautiful! =)
ReplyDeleteGran avance... sí! Esta quedando de lujo la casa toscana.
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo
Super.
ReplyDeleteOh, my God! is beautiful!! it is amazing!
ReplyDeletethen, with respect to the press, I say to you, I'm Italian, even if I do not live in Tuscany ... the press serves to grind the olives, and Tuscany is the country where they produce an excellent extra virgin ... I think that room out of the house is the ideal place for a press! would also be a great novelty to see in miniature!
expect to see progress, and meanwhile I continue to die of envy .. ha ha!
kisses, Caterina
ooooooooooo its looking fabulous!!! love it :D Linda x
ReplyDeleteA fantastic home!
ReplyDeleteI think the separate room is ideal for the wine press.
Of course, an small farm with some animals or a place for the donkey would also be great.
Me encanta la fachada de la casa, esas piedras son reales!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Carol,my parents used to own a wine farm in Tuscany close to Castellina in Chianti where Gallo Nero is grown.
ReplyDeleteThe press must be outside in an outer building, it's rare to find it inside the house. Small stone houses like yours were built in groups where each building had a different use. Floors are made in oiled teracotta while walls are usually whitewashed or in warm light colours. I may add that what US people call Tuscan style sometimes is a bit far from the real one but I suppose that this can be applied to American style for Europeans ;o)
I'll look forward to your progress bcaus I already know that it will be wonderful. Have a nice day, Rosanna
¡Que maravilloso trabajo!!!!! ( =

Thank you for your wonderful comments! Your suggestions for the little room will help me with some ideas. Rosanna, I envy your parents - to own a wine farm in Tuscany is one of my dreams! But what I cannot have in real life, I must make do in miniature. :)
